IPHES-CERCA researcher Mourad Farkouch receives the Hugo Obermaier Research Grant 2024
IPHES-CERCA researcher Mourad Farkouch has received the Hugo Obermaier Research Grant 2024 (HOGward) award. The delivery ceremony was held on April 3 during the 65th Annual Meeting that took place in the city of Weimar (Germany).
The HOGwards are promoted by the Hugo Obermaier-Society for Quaternary Research and Archeology of the Stone Age and their main objective is to financially support doctoral students, especially for those expenses derived from field work and analyzes related to their research work.
Mourad Farkouch currently works as a predoctoral researcher at IPHES-CERCA thanks to the Joan Oró Aid program for the recruitment of predoctoral research personnel in training (2023 FI-1 00578) funded by the AGAUR and co-financed by the European Union. The Award will allow the development of a series of geoarchaeological surveys within the framework of her doctoral project entitled “Settlement Dynamics & Territorial Management during the Middle and Later Stone Age in the Aïn Beni Mathar – Guefait Region (Eastern Morocco)”, directed by Dr. María Gema Chacón and Juan Ignacio Morales, researchers at IPHES-CERCA and by Prof. Dr. Hassan Aouraghe from the Université Mohammed Premier de Oujda (Faculté de Sciences).
Congratulations Mourad from the IPHES-CERCA team!
