Presentation event for "Pink", the oldest human remains in Western Europe
This Wednesday, March 12, 2025, the joint presentation ceremony between IPHES-CERCA and CENIEH of "Pink", a facial fragment found at the Sima del Elefante site (Sierra de Atapuerca, Burgos) dated between 1.1 and 1.4 million years ago, was held. This remains have been attributed to Homo aff. erectus, a different and more primitive species than Homo antecessor.
