El programa Àgora de Aragón Radio ha emès de forma inèdita un diàleg protagonitzat per tots els directors del Projecte Atapuerca: Eudald Carbonell, Juan Luis ArsuagaJosé María Bermúdez de Castro, juntament amb les persones que estan cridades a succeir-los, Marina Mosquera, María Martinón TorresJosé Miguel Carretero.

‘El diálogo del cambio’, moderat pel divulgador Luis Quevedo, va tenir lloc a les Jornadas Aragonesas de Paleontologia, celebrades a Ricla amb gran èxit de participació.

Mai abans, almenys de forma pública, s'havien assegut a la mateixa taula els principals impulsors d'Atapuerca per explicar les seves impressions i el significat d'aquest projecte amb tant de reconeixement social.

L'Equipo de Investigación de Atapuerca (EIA) va rebre el 1997 el Premio Príncipe de Asturias de Investigación Científica y Técnica, i l'any 2000 la UNESCO va declarar als jaciments de la sierra d'Atapuerca Patrimoni de la Humanitat.
