Antonio Rodriguez-Hidalgo és investigador de l’Institut Català de Paleoecologia Humana i Evolució Social (IPHES-CERCA) que ha format part de l’equip investigador que ha trobat restes de macaco de fa 2’5 milions d’anys al Marroc i de les que hi hem pogut parlar i conèixer més detalls a Carrer Major.

Ja hi havia documentada la presència de macacos al nord de l’Àfrica fa 6-7 milions d’anys, també a Europa fa 5,5 milions, concretament a Espanya i Itàlia i ara aquesta troballa testimonia presència també al nordest del Marroc.
