IPHES-CERCA researcher Andreu Ollé participates in the "Dies de Ciència" cycle in Falset
Andreu Ollé, researcher at IPHES-CERCA and associate professor at the Rovira i Virgili University (URV), will participate in the "Dies de Ciència" (Science Days) outreach cycle, held in Falset between March and August 2026. This program of scientific activities takes place at the Castell de Falset – Museu Comarcal and includes lectures, exhibitions, and various proposals to bring science closer to the general public.
As part of this cycle, Andreu Ollé will give a lecture on March 13 at 7:00 PM titled "The contribution of Atapuerca (Burgos) and Barranc de la Boella (Tarragona) to the knowledge of the first settlement of Europe," in which he will address the main research results from these two key sites for understanding the earliest human occupations of the European continent.
His participation is part of a program that brings together specialists from different scientific disciplines. This year’s edition is dedicated to commemorating the 100th anniversary of astronomer Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkin's discovery of the composition of stars, as well as the 40th anniversary of the return of Halley's Comet.
The "Dies de Ciència" cycle aims to bring scientific knowledge closer to the public and promote dialogue between researchers and society through lectures and open activities.
