The third episode of the Atapuerca podcast is now available
The Museum of Human Evolution in Burgos and the Regional Government of Castilla y León continue to roll out the Atapuerca podcast. Created by journalist and screenwriter Raquel Martos, this audio production offers a journey through the past, present, and future of the Atapuerca scientific project, guided by the voices of its key figures.
Under the slogan "Their voices will accompany you on this journey from the origin toward the future," the series premieres a new episode every Wednesday, blending narration and direct testimonies to reconstruct pivotal moments in one of the world's most significant paleoanthropological projects.
Following the first two episodes, the third chapter, titled "The Scientific Tribe," is now available. In this new installment, the podcast invites listeners to explore the spaces and moments that define the project's daily life: walking through the hills, descending into the pits, or stepping inside the laboratory. Throughout this journey, the narrative meets various members of the scientific community linked to Atapuerca, who share reflections on our ancestors and the research taking place at the site.
This episode focuses on the project's collective dimension and the diverse range of experts who make up what is often called Atapuerca’s "scientific tribe."
Participating voices include project researchers such as Marina Mosquera, Alfonso Benito, Eudald Carbonell, María Martinón, Marta Navazo, Josep Maria Parés, Nohemi Sala, Alicia Mimbacas, Susana Sarmiento, and Antonio Mencía.
The series offers a collaborative and accessible look at Atapuerca’s history, highlighting both scientific research and the human stories behind it, while reinforcing the commitment to bringing knowledge to new audiences through the podcast format.
The third episode is now available on all major audio platforms.
