The second episode of the Atapuerca podcast is now available
The Museum of Human Evolution in Burgos and the Regional Government of Castile and León continue to release the Atapuerca podcast. This audio production, created by journalist and screenwriter Raquel Martos, offers a journey through the past, present, and future of the Atapuerca scientific project through the voices of those who have been its main figures.
With the slogan “Their voices will accompany you on this journey from the origin to the future,” the series premieres a new episode every Wednesday. It combines storytelling and direct testimonies to reconstruct the key moments of one of the world's most significant paleoanthropological projects.
Following the first episode, “El zarpazo de la oscuridad” (The Claw of Darkness) —which revisited the project’s beginnings starting with Trinidad Torres' discovery and Emiliano Aguirre’s scientific leadership— the second chapter of the series is now available for streaming. This new episode continues to delve into the history of Atapuerca and the consolidation of a project that has transformed our understanding of human evolution in Europe.
Featured voices include lead researchers from the Atapuerca project, such as Dr. Marina Mosquera, director of IPHES-CERCA and co-director of the project. Other individuals directly or indirectly linked to this internationally renowned scientific initiative also participate.
The series provides a collaborative and accessible look at Atapuerca’s trajectory, highlighting both scientific research and the human stories behind it. It reinforces the commitment to bringing scientific knowledge to new audiences through the podcast format.
The second episode is now available on all major audio platforms.
