Members of the Spanish Congress Valle Mellado and Andreu Martín learn first-hand about research at IPHES-CERCA

Members of the Spanish Congress representing the province of Tarragona, Valle Mellado and Andreu Martín, visited the headquarters of the Catalan Institute of Human Paleoecology and Social Evolution (IPHES-CERCA) this morning, accompanied by the head of research at the center, Dr. Isabel Cáceres and the manager Maria Targa.

During the visit, the representatives had the opportunity to learn first-hand about the scientific activity carried out at the institute, as well as to tour some of its main laboratories, facilities and research spaces. The meeting provided an opportunity to showcase the work undertaken by IPHES-CERCA in the fields of archaeology and human evolution, areas in which the institute is internationally recognised.

The visit also served to present some of the institute’s leading research projects, as well as its contribution to knowledge generation, researcher training and the transfer of scientific knowledge to society.

IPHES-CERCA is a CERCA research centre accredited as a María de Maeztu Unit of Excellence, a distinction that recognises the scientific excellence and international impact of its research.
