IPHES-CERCA strengthens safety training with a first aid course for staff

IPHES-CERCA hosted a first aid course on April 28 and 29 aimed at the institute’s staff, with the goal of strengthening basic emergency response knowledge in research environments, laboratories and fieldwork settings. 

The training, held at the institute’s facilities, was organised into two four-hour modules. The first focused on first aid, basic life support and haemorrhage control, while the second addressed burns, wounds and trauma-related injuries.

The course was especially intended for excavation directors, members of the first aid team and laboratory managers, although it was also open to other staff members interested in receiving this training.

This initiative forms part of the prevention and safety measures promoted by IPHES-CERCA to ensure safer working environments and provide staff with basic tools to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations.

Following the positive response to the initiative, a new edition of the course is scheduled for November 23 and 24, allowing more members of the institute to take part in the training.
