Ruth Blasco participates in a German podcast about the history of food preservation

Dr. Ruth Blasco, a researcher at IPHES-CERCA, has participated in an episode of the German podcast RadioWissen, dedicated to the history of food preservation from prehistory to the present day. RadioWissen is one of Germany's most prestigious podcasts and radio programmes, produced by the Bavarian public broadcaster Bayern 2 (part of ARD).

The episode, titled "Vom Dörrgestell zur Tiefkühltruhe - Die Geschichte der Lebensmittelkonservierung" (From the drying rack to the freezer: the history of food preservation), explores the different strategies developed over time to preserve food before the advent of modern refrigeration.

Blasco's participation focuses on the most ancient origins of these practices, providing evidence on how prehistoric human groups managed and preserved food resources. Her contributions appear at the beginning of the podcast.
