IPHES-CERCA takes part in the Tarragona Juga 2025 festival with games about prehistory and sustainability
The centre presents four educational games inspired by research on human evolution and resource management
IPHES-CERCA is taking part this weekend in the fourth edition of the Tarragona Juga festival, held on 8 and 9 November at the Fira Hall of the Tarragona Congress Palace. This year, the event triples its range of activities, offering more than 150 games and 80 activities for all ages, consolidating itself as a major celebration of game culture in the city.
In this edition, IPHES-CERCA presents several educational games designed to promote research in archaeology and human evolution. Visitors will be able to play “Seed Memory”, a game for recognising plants and plant remains; “MonoFUELpoly”, a competitive game where participants buy and manage prehistoric sites and energy resources; “Every Sheep with Its Pair”, set in the Neolithic, which tests livestock management skills to ensure group survival; and “The Dawn of the Islands”, focused on survival and the sustainable management of natural resources.
Through these proposals, the centre aims to bring science closer to families and promote learning about human history and environmental sustainability in a fun and engaging way.
The Tarragona Juga 2025 festival, organised by the Tarragona City Council with the collaboration of 38 entities and groups, promotes values such as inclusion, social cohesion and critical thinking through play. With this new participation, IPHES-CERCA reaffirms its commitment to scientific outreach and to game culture as an educational tool that connects science and society.
