Guided tour of the Cova Gran de Collbató as part of the European Heritage Days
Next Sunday, October 12, within the framework of the European Heritage Days 2025, a guided tour will be held to the prehistoric sites of the Cova Gran de Collbató, a key space for understanding human occupations in the Montserrat massif during prehistory.
The activity will be led by Dr. Juan Ignacio Morales, researcher at IPHES-CERCA and director of the excavation at this site, who will present the results of this year's excavation campaign and the latest advances in the research being carried out there.
The visits, organized as part of Collbató's cultural program, will have two groups (at 10 am and 12 noon) and places are limited to 10 people per session. Access to the cave is demanding and it is recommended to wear appropriate footwear.
The European Heritage Days are an initiative of the Council of Europe and the European Commission, coordinated in Catalonia by the Department of Culture of the Generalitat, which promotes the discovery and appreciation of cultural heritage through free activities throughout the territory.
