IPHES-CERCA attends the 2024 “María de Maeztu” accreditation ceremony in Zaragoza
This morning, the Director of IPHES-CERCA, Dr Marina Mosquera, and the Head of Research, Dr Isabel Cáceres, attended the official ceremony for the awarding of the 2024 “Severo Ochoa” and “María de Maeztu” Centre and Unit of Excellence accreditations, held at the University of Zaragoza.
The event was presided over by the Spanish Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities, Diana Morant, who highlighted the “undeniable international scientific leadership” of the awarded centres and units, and stressed that “Spain is now a country of science and for science.” The ceremony was also attended by the Minister of Education, Pilar Alegría; the Secretary General for Research, Eva Ortega; the Director of the State Research Agency, José Manuel Fernández de Labastida; the President of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Eloísa del Pino; among other academic and scientific authorities.
The “María de Maeztu” Unit of Excellence accreditation recognises the international leadership and scientific impact of IPHES-CERCA, and represents a boost to further progress in excellence-driven research, talent attraction, and internationalisation.
