Lecture: The Museum’s Archaeological Section in the 1960s

As part of the fifth edition of the Winter Lecture and Debate Series, the lecture “The Museum’s Archaeological Section in the 1960s” will take place on Sunday, 25 January, at 12:00 noon, in the auditorium of the Casal dels Josa in Montblanc. The session will review the origins, early discoveries and anecdotes of a pioneering group that laid the foundations of local archaeology.

The lecture will be given by Josep Maria Vergès, researcher at IPHES-CERCA, and Joan Pallisé, one of the founders of the Museum’s Archaeological Section, who will provide a first-hand, testimonial account of those early years of activity.

The event will be complemented by a guided tour of the Museum’s prehistory galleries, allowing participants to contextualise the topics addressed during the lecture on site and to further explore the archaeological heritage of the region.
